California Apricot Foster Sundae

1  (15 1/4 oz.) can California apricot halves, undrained
1/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
1 pint vanilla ice cream


Servings:  About 4

Drain fruit, reserving syrup in small saucepan.  Bring to boil.  Reduce heat to medium-low; simmer 4 minutes.  Stir in brown sugar and butter, cook until thickened, stirring constantly.  Add apricots; heat through.  Spoon over scoops of ice cream.
