News: The Apricot Producers of California in the New Millennium
A remarkable 95+% of the United States' apricot crop is produced in California by small, family-owned farms. Taking on a relentless guardian role in the changing apricot market, APC functions as the reliable source of industry information, a critical bargaining association, and a resourceful marketing and promoting force for its grower-members.

Recent California apricot harvest seasons presented numerous challenges for California apricot farmers and ultimately the APC.  Unpredictable weather, competition from lower-priced imports, and changing consumer habits severely impacted the industry.  Taking action, the APC is working hard to combat these threats.  Bill Ferriera, President of the APC, and his colleagues regularly lobby governmental and trade organizations and have also sponsored a number of educational efforts to consumers, dieticians, media and foodservice professionals, launching a website, attending trade shows, providing educational pamphlets and materials, as well as myriad other efforts.
