Now, more than ever, The Apricot Producers of California need your support. Despite the high nutritionals and convenience of canned apricots, retail sales continue to decline -- the consumer marketplace competition is that fierce.
We know you love apricots.
Help us and we'll help you.
By serving more apricots on your school breakfast and lunch menus, you will be dramatically boosting the beta-carotene, fiber and flavor of your menus. In fact, we've just created this graphic to detail the many benefits of this power-packed stone fruit. In turn, you will be helping us save an industry in crisis.
You can assist us in saving the California apricot industry by voicing your support to the USDA and letting them know that you support the current Bonus Buy Request. Read on to learn more about this power-packed fruit, and see below for ways to utilize this informative flyer.
Promote California apricots in your school with this informational flyer by:
- Reproducing it as a poster and hanging it in and/or around your cafeteria
- Handing out flyers to teachers and asking them to incorporate the
information into a lesson plan - Posting it on your website and linking to the Apricot Producers of
California's website for additional information, recipes, and kid-friendly
serving suggestions - Sending it out with the school's email newsletter and talking about the
increased usage of apricots on your cafeteria's menu and why this is a
nutritionally important addition
